Australia –- RBA hiked cash target rate by 25bp to 3.25% vs 3.0% consensus - The reference to 'gradually lessening' probably implies 25bp hikes from here, probably another before Christmas, but not likely more than that, though it remains data-dependent. (UBS Research) -AUD/USD range trading but on positive footing was the program of the day within 0.8720-25 to 0.8795-00, closing ard 0.8770 o/n, it dipped to 0.8760-65 then zoomed up first on $ bearish UK independent article, followed by RBA rate hike, touching highs ard 0.8875-80 in Asia, while above 0.8800 mkt targets 89.00-35 or 89.50-0.9030 failure risking setback to 0.8760-10 or 0.8690-50, support 0.8800/0.8760 & 0.8710, res 0.8900/0.8935 & 0.8950

Canada –USD/CAD topped out ard 1.0780-85 & fell back on pick up in risk trades to 1.0695-00 before closing ard 1.0715-20 o/n, it continued to trade soft alongside the falling greenback, tumbling down to 1.0660-65 in Asia, while below 1.0760 risk to 1.0630-1.0590 or 1.0550-1.0500 only back above could challenge 1.0820-50 or 1.0925, support 1.0630/1.0590 & 1.0550 res 1.0760/1.0820 & 1.0850

Gold – Comex yesterday closed at day’s highs 1017/18, low 1002/03. Gold had a slow start and traded within 1002/07 range for the first few hours of the session, it started to move higher once the dollar came under pressure and crude paired its losses, mainly funds were buying it on the floor and once market took out 1010 lvl few stops got triggered and it dealt up to 1017, closing on the highs. Gold was the leader in precious metals and the others were just tracking it higher, all the metals closing on the highs of the day (UBS Metal), it remained buoyant in Asia trading from 1015/16 to 1020/21, while above 1010-1007 mkt targets break of 1024 for test of 1030-1035 or 1037-40 failure risking setback to 1000-995 or 990-985, support 1010/1007 & 1000, res 1024/1030 & 1035

Oil- NYMEX November crude future was in consolidation mood for most of the day trading within 71.00 to 68.05 before closing up at 70.41 later in the day alongside higher Wallstreet/lower dollar, it brifly dipped to 70.06 before bouncing back to 70.63 in quiet Asia session, it needs to take out 71.00-40 to test 71.80-72.60 or 73.20 failure risking fresh setback to 68.90-05 or 67.50-66.90, support 68.90/68.05 & 67.50, res 71.00/71.40 & 71.80
