Firstly, I can advise that the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) does authorise and regulate forex trading and contracts for difference (CFD) and I can confirm that City Index Ltd is on our Register.

In respect of the problems you are experiencing with the firm, you would need to refer to your terms and conditions as these will state what the restrictions are for withdrawing funds from your account. If the firm is not complying with these terms, you can make a formal complaint to them and refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service (the Ombudsman) if you are unable to resolve the matter directly. With regard to your second enquiry about whether your money is protected if the firm’s bank is in the USA, I can advise that any dealings with an authorised firm are protected by the Financial Services compensation Scheme (FSCS). If City Index was to become bankrupt, the FSCS would be there to provide any compensation you would be due.
