أصدرت السلطات الفدرالية الأميركية أوامر بإغلاق غارانتي بنك في ولاية تكساس في ثالث أكبر عملية إفلاس مصرفي هذا العام في الولايات المتحدة، ليرتفع عدد البنوك التي أعلنت إفلاسها إلى 81 بنكاً منذ بدء العام الحالي، جراء الأزمة المالية العالمية.
ونقلت شبكة سي إن إن عن المؤسسة الفدرالية لضمان الودائع أن حجم أصول البنك ومقره أوستن بولاية تكساس يبلغ 13 مليار دولار، فيما تبلغ قيمة الودائع فيه 12 مليار دولار.
وستستحوذ شركة بي بي في آي التي يملكها البنك الإسباني بانكو بيلباو فيزكايا أرجنتاريا -وهو ثاني أكبر البنوك الإسبانية- على جميع ودائع البنك الأميركي، بالإضافة إلى 12 مليار دولار من الأصول.
وتعتبرهذه الحالة الأولى التي يستحوذ فيها طرف من خارج الولايات المتحدة على أحد البنوك المنهارة بفعل الأزمة المالية العالمية.
وأعلنت المؤسسة الفدرالية لضمان الودائع أنها ستتكفل بخسائر البنك البالغة 11 مليار دولار. وسيتم افتتاح فروع البنك المفلس، والبالغ عددها 162 فرعاً الاثنين المقبل باعتبارها فروعاً لشركة بي بي في آي.
ويعد غارانتي بنك ثالث أكبر بنك يعلن إفلاسه في الولايات المتحدة هذا العام، كما يأتي في المرتبة 11 بين أكبر البنوك المفلسة في تاريخ الولايات المتحدة.
ويعتبر غارانتي بنك رابع بنك من تكساس يعلن إفلاسه هذا العام، متأثراً بشكل مباشر بقروض الرهن العقاري, وكانت أغلب البنوك المنهارة هي بنوك صغيرة ومحلية، يقتصر عملها على مناطق وجودها.
وكانت الوكالة الحكومية المصرفية في أميركا قد أعلنت الأسبوع الماضي إغلاق بنك كولونيال بولاية ألاباما -أحد أهم البنوك الأميركية في مجال التطوير العقاري- في أكبر عملية إفلاس يشهدها عام 2009.
ولم تسجل الولايات المتحدة أي عملية إفلاس سنتي 2005 و2006 لكن النظام المصرفي شهد ثلاث عمليات إفلاس سنة 2007 و25 إفلاسا في 2008

اخوتي أليس من الممكن أن نتعامل باليورو مع محافظنا لماذا نجبر على التحويل بالدولار وهو يعاني من ضعف شديد وافلاس بنوك كبيرة جدا اخشى ان يأتي يوم واذا بمحافظنا وارصدتنا لا تساوى فلسا واحدا وفجأة يتحول العمل باليورو وتذهب أموالنا أدراج الرياح .. ادري ان الامر مفروض علينا ولا نستطيع تغييره ولكن تساؤل خطر في بالي
