The rally from 1.2151 is in five waves. Instead of being a bullish event, the impulsive rally sets the stage for a setback, or worse. A correction should reach the 1.2480 and is more likely to stretch to the sub-1.2400 level.
Bigger picture, the euro recovery from 1.1876 is in three waves and could be a correction at an end. Given the euro's bear trend since late 2009, the potential for a corrective recovery, and the expectation for euro weakness to start the week this is not the time to favor the euro and may be the time to return to the bearish view held for most of 2010.
An official return to the larger bearish outlook would come with an impulsive decline with a subsequent corrective recovery to a lower high offering an opportunity.
